There are so many programs to go for under film editing. It is always good to master more than one editing software. If you are skilful in more than one of the programs, you will have better opportunity of getting good and big editing jobs. Even if you master an adobe editing suite. You will need to master may of the versions and models. As the day passes by ,new models come out with more sophisticated features and characteristics.

There are video editors that are versatile. They can edit both films, music videos, documentaries etc. It is always good to specialise in one when you get known. You can decide to just be doing drama editing or editing of only science fiction films.
